Despite falling to two back-to-back double-bogies on his first nine, Yu finished round one trailing the lead by one stroke at even par. Sebastiano Mascia, of Orlando, carded two birdies on his first nine and finished with an eagle on the par five 17th hole to take the early lead at one under-par 71. Yu scored three birdies and two bogies in round two to climb up the leaderboard to hoist his first FJT trophy at one under-par 143. Jiakai Chen, of Lakewood Ranch, posted an eagle on the par five ninth hole to finish five strokes lower in round two. Chen secured second place by three strokes with a round two 70 and 145 total.
